Guatemala Mission - The Best of Time

Is there a time of year that is particularly valuable and meaningful for you? For me it is the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas when I reflect on the year that is almost over. "Almost" is the key word because there is still time to complete the goals focused on in January.

It is also my time to reflect and give thanks. I give thanks for the lessons learned: for things that did work as planned and thinks that did not. I give thanks for the people in my life: for family, friends, and patients who freely come and trust in our care. It is through God's grace that I have been blessed with any and so many gifts. Therefore, I must ask, "How can I best use my God-give gifts to further His kingdom?"

One way Joanne and I have chosen to use our gifts is by serving on a medical/dental mission trip in January, 2007. We will be going to guatemala under the direction of a Houston-based organization, Faith in Practice. From our home base in El Estor, we will travel by boat to four different villages where hundreds of adults and children will receive medical and dental care. We ask for your prayers for the success and safety of this mission.

The mission of Faith in Practice is to improve the physical, spiritual, and economic conditions of poor in Guatemala through short term surgical, medical and dental mission trips. If you are interested in learning more about this organization, or if you wish to make a contribution to Faith in Practice, please contact our office or visit their web site at www.faithinpractice.org

For your gifts with which I have been blessed: your presence in our dental practice, your trust, your tolerance, your support, your valuing our care that I can miss a week of work to make this trip.....I feel truly grateful.

With warmest regards,
William P. Glaros, D.D.S.
