Pinellas County commission likely to reinstate water fluoridation

It may be a case of one step forward, two steps back in combination with the ‘squeaky wheel’ syndrome in Pinellas County Florida, where county commissioners are now looking at reversing what appeared to be a well advised decision made back in October to stop water fluoridation in their community – a sad situation for forward thinking members of the public, and for advocates of water fluoridation cessation as well. Despite a more than $600,000 investment in the process launched back in 2004, a decision made earlierthis week by Pinellas County Commission in Florida effectively put a stop to adding fluoride to its public drinking water, making it the largest urban county in Florida to discontinue the practice. One sample from a fluoride toothpaste selected at random reads: Active Ingredient Sodium Fluoride – Warning – Keep out of reach of children. If accidently swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.
