Your First Visit

Your first visit in our office is a discovery appointment.  What are your dental issues and interests?  What do you need from us to help you further along your dental path? Prior to your scheduling your new patient exam, you had the opportunity to go into these dental issues and questions.  Your comprehensive dental exam with Dr. Glaros will continue the process and hopefully answer your important dental questions and needs.

The first appointment will include:

• Gathering data of current and past dental issues plus health history review
• Digital panoramic and full mouth series of xrays (with homeopathic for radiation). If you’ve had recent xrays(within the last 6 months), please provide the xrays before this exam.
• Intraoral photos
• Laser detection / diagnosis (Diagnodent) for evidence and progression of  decay
• Oral cancer check
• Evaluation of occlusion and TMJ (jaw joint) function
• Measurement of electrical activity of existing metal restorations (with Amalgameter)
• Close screening of each tooth for base line information so that all visits after this first exam will have a good history recorded ( a map of your mouth)
• Dental Material Compatibility Testing – This testing helps determine which dental materials appear to be most suitable for you.
• Examination of periodontal tissues and pockets and radiographic evaluation of boney support of teeth.
